Presqu'ile Provincial Park - I managed to get a few shots just as the sun was setting. This was offshore on Gull Island, a 100-metre walk in water up to knee deep.

Sue Bishop: Such a beautiful bird. We didn't brave the water and did not see many shorebirds on our recent trip to Presqu'ile. Well done!
BrianMorin: Even the immature birds are quite attractive. Presqu'ile is a great spot with such a variety of habitats that there is something for everyone. Access to the island is only possible from September 11 on following the end of the breeding season for colonial breeding birds.

BrianMorin: This was one not to be missed. This 'Old World' flycatcher seems out of place in North America so it is a real treat when one shows up.

Sue Bishop: Great find and capture,Brian. You also managed to get a closeup with the bird perched.We have seen them often in the tropics but it is really way out of it's range!! Congratulations!!
BrianMorin: They get them along the Gulf Coast in the US during the breeding season and before migration so that's where it likely came from. We got lucky with this bird that has hung around for over 10 days. It is far for me so one trip was all I could make.

Kingston - Not only is this bird far from its normal range, it is unusual to see one in this plumage this far north. Captured at first light.
