Amherst Island - Plumage reversal for phalaropes. The female is the more colourful one (R). She also leaves the job of nest sitting to the male and may have multiple suitors, laying eggs in several nests.

Presqu'ile Provincial Park - This was my consolation for an almost complete failure with shorebirds in the park. The beach was virtually non existent because of high lake level. At least there were songbirds.
