Burnt Lands Provincial Park - This has become a difficult species to find, even in areas of suitable habitat. In this case a few pairs can be found breeding on a semi-open alvar with six other species of sparrows.

Ottawa - This is the eastern subspecies, which has a breeding range that doesn't get much further west than Ottawa. The bird has much more yellow than the western subspecies and is sometimes called the 'yellow' Palm.

Amherst Island - The best time to find these uncommon birds is early and late in the day. The call is unique.
