In a nature scene I've not witnessed, this Snowy Owl suddenly went into a defensive posture. At the same time, one of the observers standing next to me yelled out "Gyrfalcon!". One had been reported in the Mirabel area harassing Snowy Owls last week. It turned out to be a Peregrine Falcon in the end, but an interesting encounter nonetheless.

Just prior to the snow starting, the clouds went slightly darker blue. It helped with the background of this Snowy Owl sitting in a tree on the north side of Mirabel Airport. The third of 5 owls seen today.

A Prairie Falcon was spotted near Brunswick Point in Ladner (Delta) BC. The day I managed to get out there the bird was visible, but the weather was very foggy. This and the next photo are the first for the site. I'll try to get out again and get clearer shots.
