I was out checking a local pond for shorebirds yesterday evening when an adult male Peregrine Falcon decided to check out the pond as well.

This Semipalmated Sandpiper froze in place for over five minutes after the falcon left, gazing skyward.

"The bully"

I went out yesterday to try for some shorebird photos in a small pond near my home.

This Eastern Kingbird continually harassed the shorebirds so I was not able to get many photos of them.

Thankfully I did get this image of the Kingbird.
