As I was walking down the trail a tiny black ball of fluff came walking down the trail toward me. An obviously alone and lost Virginia Rail chick. After taking a few photos I caught the poor little waif and put it back in the cattails where it may reunite with its parents. Out on the trail it had no chance if a passing crow had seen it.
