As part of the Christmas Bird Count 2015, we had a record number of raptors which was great news. This was one of 6 Red-tailed Hawks, along with 2 Rough-legged Hawks, 1 Red-shouldered Hawk and 1 Kestrel at Dorval. We think we under-counted the number of raptors but erred on the cautious side.

Taken during the Christmas Bird Count at Dorval, Quebec, Canada. I've been seeing a pair of Ravens nearly every week for the past couple of years - was finally able to get a decent photo - which I'm assuming is a male and female. We did however see 2 single Ravens later in the day.

Kingston - I came across yet another gorgeous bird today. The sombre sky provided nice even tones for the owl. WIth no snow they show up better than during the depths of winter. I love the talons.
