Probably the luckiest birding event since moving to BC. I happened to walk up to Dave Beeke about 200 meters out on Boundary Bay looking at a Little Stint. Within 2 minutes had a lifer - as well as a great education on various sandpipers. Thanks to him for showing me and a group of others this little friend from afar.

Ingleside - Continuing with the recent shorebird theme, this bird was hanging around with Lesser Yellowlegs. It is an uncommon regional bird in migration.

Oliphant - This is the first confirmed record of Reddish Egret in Canada. Not only that but it gets the 'ugly bird' award. :) This juvenile appeared on the Bruce Peninsula and has been present for weeks. It may well remain for weeks to come because it likes the neighbourhood on Lake Huron; shallow shore waters with good feeding opportunities. It is standing on a boat.
