Herring Gull (15)Larus argentatus BobTour Canada (Québec) Details: juvenile Is it a Juvenil Lesser Black Backed Gull or a Immature Glaucous Winged Gull Date uploaded: Sep 11 2024 Views: 14 Comments (2): Brian Morin: It's a young Herring Gull. Young birds are always a challenge and the two species (Lesser Black-backed and Herring) aren't that far apart at this stage of life. The Herring is larger so a size comparison helps. Glaucous-winged Gulls are a West Coast species.BobTour: your help in this identification is very helpfull it's a first for me to see and photographe

Yellow-billed Oxpecker (3)Buphagus africanus Krish Uganda 📍 Map Date taken: Jul 19 2024 Date uploaded: Aug 16 2024 Views: 20 Comments (2): Krish: The yellow-billed oxpecker feeds on insects and ticks, earning its name from its behaviour of perching on large mammals and consuming parasitic arthropods. In a single day, it can remove over 100 ticks. While ticks are a significant part of its diet, the oxpecker prefers blood and will peck at wounds on mammals to feed directly. Despite this behaviour, mammals generally tolerate the presence of oxpeckers.Brian Morin: Good shot and neat story
