Ingleside - I worked with this bird for 30 minutes and by the end I could approach fairly closely in the car. The sun came out for a very brief time giving me some nice light for my subject.

Ottawa - this bird has been present for a few weeks. I managed to catch it while it was preening before it swam off to feed.

Ottawa - I watched a pair for about 20 minutes. They were very high and almost always in shadow or behind branches. The female briefly showed enough for a few shots including this one with a moth she dug out from behind some bark.

Ingleside - It begins again. This is my first Snowy of the winter, not one of the few individuals that summered in Ontario. No idea if it will stick around or is heading further south. Others to follow soon we hope.

Ingleside - I know it's only a Red-tail but these guys are notoriously difficult to shoot so any time I get the chance I see what I can get away with. Of course younger birds are easier to deal with than adults but even they can present a challenge.

Algonquin Park - Tough bird to get. Had to beat the bushes 100 metres off trail based on a sighting the previous day.
