Chesterville - It hardly seems worthwhile taking a picture of a Crow but this bird piqued my curiosity. It spent a few minutes working on a partial cob of corn then flew away with its prize.

St. Rose - with fields now fully covered in snow, Horned larks are gathering along roadsides to feed. This is the Northern subspecies. In February the Prairie Horned Lark will arrive, our first spring migrant. It can be distinguished by white above the eyes rather than yellow.

Chesterville - I didn't notice this bird with the Snow Goose until I was reviewing the shots (cropped from a larger flock). That's often what happens when there are plenty of Greater Snow Geese around.

Ingleside - found an adult eagle feeding on a carp along the St. Lawrence on this cold winter morning. Several Crows stood by waiting their turn but did not dare interrupt.
