Presqu'ile Provincial Park - Lake Ontario usually has a few of these coastal birds show up before heading to the Atlantic for the winter. They are often quite approachable. This is the last of the migrant shorebirds for another season.

Ottawa - Tremendous luck with this bird. I was in my car watching juncos and Tree Sparrows when it dropped to the ground right in front of me, about 5 metres away. Almost too close. This is just about full frame, with a slight crop on the left.

St. Isidore - I found a flock of 110 in a freshly tilled field. It is late for this species and very late for a large flock. Note the absense of black in the 'armpit' distinguishing it from the Black-bellied Plover.
