Perth - A two-day wonder for this western vagrant. It put on a nice show, occasionally coming close to the road. It was gone the next morning.

Near Luther Marsh - This striking bird has been around since at least July 23. I made the lengthy trip into southcentral Ontario and wasn't disappointed. Most are seeing it at a distance, often quite far so having it fly overhead, even briefly, was a real treat and worth the trip.

Ottawa - This is the same bird I saw early last month. It had moved from its original site for severeal weeks then turned up in the west end of the city in an equestrian park. Nice quiet site with plenty of grassy areas to feed and a nice pond. It has molted most of the worn feathers it showed in June.
