Cornwall - Very tough one this morning. I went specifically to try to get some shots of wrens and in a couple of hours I had success but they spent very little time up now that the breeding season is well in hand.

Kemptville - I couldn't pass up a shot of this male on a window screen. It regularly perched there, looking at its reflection in the window.

Chesterville - It must be sparrow time and coincidentally I had one yesterday. They are uncommon in our region with only a few locations to check. Most seem to prefer plantations of short evergreens, up to about four metres high. This one was in a previously unknown location.

Whiteface Mountain - We almost didn't make it to our destination, with the primary goal of seeing and photographing this rarity due to vehicle problems. In the end the result was better than we could have hoped for. This is normally a difficult bird to photograph, even when found.

Canoe Lake - the hardest thing with this species is capturing its true colour. The camera has a hard time with the intensity of the red. I actually had to tone it down a bit afterwards and may not have gotten it quite right. The bottom line is that this is a very brightly coloured bird. I had 'Point Pelee' looks at this individual which was great.
