Avonmore - we literally almost drove right over this bird on a back road and we were going slow at the time. Good thing for her. We had to back up to see her and she walked onto the side of the road. Today we also found a dead male on our way home and I had another dead male on Monday.

Long Sault Parkway - A local birder alerted me to this bird today. He thought it was a Red-necked but it has Red Phalarope features including overall whitish appearance with gray back and bill that is thicker at the base and paler than the rest of the bill. A rare regional find. Note the lobed toes. That's why phalaropes can swim unlike other shorebirds.
